Production Sheet Metal Stampings

Our custom sheet metal stamping process works for a number of specialized parts, using different types of dies to create simple as well as more detailed pieces through production stamping. 

Progressive die stamping works like an assembly line. The blanked sheet metal passes through a number of presses, each containing a different die that leaves the impression of each die upon the sheet metal. This is ideal for complex parts that require detailed markings or qualities. 

Lines dies, on the other hand, involve one simple imprint, whether by hand or machine. They are ideal for minimizing the amount of sheet metal waste created by the stamping process.  

Blanking involves creating individual pieces of sheet metal, known as blanks, like the cookies created by a cookie-cutter. This process lowers the time and costs necessary to create a unique part.

Notching, which is done on the outsides of sheet metal pieces, bends stamped metal parts. It is used to give a part its shape.

Piercing is similar to blanking, but while blanking refers to the new part, or cookie, cut, piercing involves removing the cut-out part. The final product is a sheet of metal with holes in it, rather than the pieces cut from the sheet.
